Removal of Micropollutants by Ozone-Based Processes

Micropollutants and emerging substances pose a serious problem to environmental sustainability remediation, due their widespread use applications in everyday life. This group of chemicals is diverse but with common toxic harmful properties. Their concentration the environment often very low; however, recalcitrant nature, they are persistent air, water, soil. From an engineering point view, challenge not straightforward. It difficult remove these contaminants from complex mixtures by conventional methods used wastewater drinking water treatment. Ozonation ozone-based AOPs accepted processes degradation resistant or at least enhancement biodegradability. The aim this review paper present research trends aimed solving problems application removal micropollutants wastewater, thus preventing leakage into surface soil, groundwater facilitating reuse wastewater. Priority substances, pollutants, as well technologies for transformation elimination, briefly specified.
